TCPalm: Rio Town Center could soon become the newest live-work development on the Treasure Coast

MARTIN COUNTY — A retail-commercial-residential development proposed for north county could take a major step forward Tuesday.

County Commissioners are to decide whether to approve the long-discussed Rio Town Center's revised master site plan and final phase 1 plan.

Commission approval would allow the the live-work community to move into the pre-construction phase; the project could break ground once it receives final construction approval from the county.

Commission approval also could herald major changes for Rio, an unincorporated community with 983 people as of 2016, according to the U.S. Census…
