House bill to kill Enterprise Florida includes lesser known provisions cutting nearly $300M in economic development funds

TALLAHASSEE — The early-session spotlight has shone brightly on a bill to abolish Enterprise Florida, but little-discussed provisions in the same legislation being pushed hard by House leadership would also slash nearly $300 million in economic development funding prized by the Scott administration.

The House bill, HB 7005, includes language that would send $289 million in economic development cash to the state’s general revenue fund, meaning the money could be used for anything — not solely traditional economic development activities…
