Gov. Rick Scott Signs 74 Bills, Includes ‘Sunshine Protection Act’ Pending Congressional Approval

TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA – Governor Rick Scott signed the following 74 bills into law on Friday. One of the bills, the “Sunshine Protection Act,” would keep Florida on daylight savings time year-round.

However, the Daylight Savings bill won’t take effect unless Congress changes federal law. Pending Congressional Approval, Florida would no longer set back their clocks an hour each November.

– SB 100 Taxes and Fees for Veterans and Low-Income Persons – This bill cuts taxes and fees by creating an exemption from local business taxes for honorably discharged veterans and their spouses, allowing veterans to receive an identification card or driver license with the word “Veteran” at no cost, and reducing driver license service fees for veterans…
